Mellow Yellow for the gallery

When I received my kit for the ATDML's July gallery -we were given Bo Bunny which I always love,I really wasn't too sure about the yellow papers. Then I remembered I had a photo of me in a yellowy cardi and outfit with Archie, the resulting layout was the one below. I added a bit of red to it to kind of warm it up. I used the Tim Holtz pine cone and leaf die round the photo. Talking of Tim Holtz,I'm mega excited cos I've got a place on his upcoming workshop at the end of August - anyone else going?? Can't wait won't wait !

Another one that was 'yellowy' was using some of the papers that reminded me of 'banana split sweets ' we used to have when I was younger - honest !! Someone must remember them?
Photos are from our holiday in Lanzarote - himself has always been adamant we don't go back anywhere more than once but this place is so lovely, it suits us both and we know we are going to love it when we get there - we've been back twice - hence the title.
There are some lovely projects from the Design Team in the gallery this month,if you get chance do pop on over and have a peep.
Thanks for popping by and thanks for your lovely comments too - I love them :-)

A Sunny Visit

I haven't been doing much blogging lately, mainly because I haven't had lots of time for crafting and I always think that everyday stuff is not that interesting to others. But after having a little blog hop this morning I realise that actually - I do enjoy reading about other people's lives as well as seeing their creations.
So off we go, last weekend was my middle son's birthday- he was 26  (26 - how did that happen?) What happened to the lad who loved Ghostbusters and Turtles and Pokemon?
Anyway,as he has now made his home in Chichester where he went to Uni we decided to go down and visit him and his girlfriend for the day..TheM25 was up to its usual tricks and held us up going there AND coming home- but you can't do much about it

We took him out for a nice pub lunch, silly Mum didn't take photos...

then we went for a walk along by Chichester Marina
saw the many houseboats along the way
and then we headed off to a little village - so pretty- with lovely little thatched cottages. This cottage really reminded me of those old films
We had a stroll along the waterside
It was mighty hot !

Checkout the hat- as himself has a tad less hair nowadays- luckily he found a hat to shield him from the sun - not that we giggled at all .....
It was a really lovely day - we enjoyed catching up with them both again

As always, thanks for popping by.

Den's Crafty Den

My craft room here has been bursting at the seams for quite a while now - if the truth be known,I wish it was nice and tidy - but there is just too much for the little room ( that's my excuse anyway)
I always start with best intentions to have a real 'sort out' and then get embroiled in things that I find  i'd forgotten I had and don't get very far..
My albums are aplenty and wool stash has now moved into the garage together with rather a lot of ahem boxes with card stuff in them.....I have so many Kanban goodies now since being in their DT.
We have just got a new suite in our lounge and it meant that we got rid of our sideboard that we've has since the 1980s - which housed all my albums and lots of wool.
After we had words one afternoon a couple of weeks ago, I thought 'I really must find some storage space somewhere or something' I have a unit where there are a lot of things from Mum and Dad's house that I didn't want to get rid of and hadn't got room for here...
Maybe I could do that ??
Then suddenly I had a brilliant idea- near where i work there is a little office that is empty.
It would be perfect for me to have as a craft studio -come- storage room....then everyone will be happy !!!
So - I shall be making my nice little room at home tidy and also have a little studio room to house everything else - with a desk in to work at should I want to...it's literally right where I work so should be perfect.
It's a bit of a weird colour at the moment so himself is going to go in and paint it for me .

So there we have it - my new project.I'm quite excited about it now - I think I might have a little desk and some shelves round the walls so I can put stackable drawers on wheels underneath them- if anyone has any good ideas - I'm open to any! How does anyone store ribbons and cardstock ? Do you keep kits together if you buy any or split them up once you've got them ?
I might get some boxey type shelves to keep the many balls of wool in that I have too.
So many things - what does anyone do with their embellishment bits?  I seem to have so many - some are in plastic boxes -do you keep flowers in some and then tickets and tags and stuff in another ? I think I need to get on Pinterest or do some craft room storage searches ...watch this space !!!

June Gallery for ATDML

I thought I'd share my makes for the June gallery over at A Trip Down Memory Lane with you.The team have come up with some really varied designs this month.
We were given Fancy Pants to work with, lovely bright summery colours ...
The background on this one came about a bit by accident.I was using a new butterfly edging punch and some of the remnants fell out over this turquoise card - I thought it looked really nice so set about the task of sticking each one on. I actually enjoyed sitting fiddling - picking each one up - better than throwing them in the bin!
I used some butterfly stamps I had on these two cards together with some Fancy Pants stickers and papers

This one, the colours of the papers reminded me that I had a photo of the blanket I crocheted ages ago so decided to scrap that !
Last but not least, just with some dew drops and punched hearts - a bit of black white and yellow- a combination I always love.

Thanks for popping by,soon be time for a Scavenger Hunt catch up!
