Kanban for this week- the last of 2012

I haven't done anything for a week or so crafty wise (well probably more like two weeks)
So I disappeared into the craft room on Saturday and had a play with the Lavender Rose  2 kit. This kit first time round was really popular and when customers were asked which was their favourite for the year - this one won hands down. So Kanban came up with version 2. It's basically along the  same lines as number one but with more pinky tones and also has the addition of a 12 x 12 pad which is great for me. I love flowers and lilacs and pinks so it's right up my street! All these projects re using the kit
This was using Kanban Poinsettia stamp as well - I embossed it in white and layered it up.
This is again stamped and embossed - you can't see very well but it's using lilac glitter embossing powder

and here again - a layout this time - using the 12 x 12 pad with a bit of bling and a stamped flower. I love this flower and it always comes out when I fancy a bit of stamping
I hope whatever you are doing tonight you have a lovely New Year's Eve and I wish you all a happy and healthy 2013

Twinkle twinkle little stars

 We've had trials and traumas
and bloghops and recipes
we've laughed and giggled
and cyberhugged and cried

We've scrapped and inked
and crocheted and sewn
shown our creations
and shared family moments

but most of all we've been friends

MERRY CHRISTMAS

from me and mine to you and yours
enjoy your festive time

see you back here soon

Three more tags and reindeers

Where oh where is the time going? I've still got cards to make, still got to write them all,I've been' beavering away making reindeer cards for an order I had (not expected but very flattering) I've been making reindeer cards in various colour combinations..they are not your 'usual'  Christmas colours - but I actually like them! I've not blogged some of the other 'Tim' style tags I made either - so without further ado here's the tags and a couple of the reindeer cards- I hope you're all keeping up with all the preparations and stuff x'
I stamped the angel with white distress stain first, then went over it again with black archival,it's glimmer misted too..

This one has loads of stamping on it - I started with a wet tag and added the inks directly to the tag, then stamped -you can't see it on here very well but I used the new silver distress stain which I absolutely love- a great addition to the stains range. I used it on the edges of the angel too

Santa's got a bit of 'fluffy stuff' on his beard and hat on this one. The background was started off with antique bronze metallic distress stain and has some white on it as well.

and here's a couple of those reindeer cards
                                                         Pink and silver
Lilac and silver
Pale blue and pale gold

Right, I'm off to take son off to his Christmas 'do' and then back to cards- enjoy your Sunday.

Weekly projects

This week I made a layout for one of my weekly Kanban projects. I don't 'do' green very often, but it just seemed to come together with a bit of sparkly acetate round the photo and a bit of green. Most of this was done with card and acetate from the gorgeous girly 'Sugar Buttons' range- you can't see but the cream background is very swirly and sparkly.I can't believe we've been back a week already.

The next one was a little card made with'In the Garden' range-green again!

Last but not least is using 'Bella Italiano' -this is a relatively new range and I've really used this kit a lot..Most of this one is using the paper pad -the toppers are Visions of Beauty in Aqua and Square window.

                                     Thanks for popping by :-)

Kanban makes

I'm a bit behind with blogging projects for this weeks Kanban ...due to  the fact that we were flitting about round Germany!
The  first one is a fold out card/mini book using a piece of 12 x 12 cardstock - this is similar to the make and take I did last week and is using Nordic snowflakes background card and Christmas Friends toppers, also some ribbons and buttons from my stash

The second one is using the Lavender Rose papers and toppers
I made another 'Tim' style tag too -back with that tomorrow.
Thanks for popping by as always!

More Germany and a make and take

I didn't plan very well this year.I missed the Eclectic Keepsakes Christmas crop as we were in Germany and as I'd agreed to do a class for Karen -I  decided to do a make and take.

I used Simple Stories for this one. It involved a bit of folding of a 12 x 12 sheet of paper and some Christmassy buttons. I made some tags from the journalling squares to slot into the tops at the sides. It all folded up nicely and was tied with a  nice bit of ribbon.I really hope they all liked it.
On to more Germany....this was what we arrived to at the airport and it certainly made us feel Christmassy! Such a cute display..

This was our hotel
and we were fascinated by the Reindeer chairs ! We never found out if the antlers were real or synthetic

and this was the first castle we went to before Neuschwanstein- I've never walked so much in my life !
It was a long way up....but truly beautiful.

December 1st - a magical day

Would you like to see how I've spent my December 1st today ? Well, there are -ahem a few photos to follow...what a way to start the countdown to Christmas...

We arrived here is snowy Germany yesterday and have spent today in a winter wonderland. We can't believe how lucky we are (so far) that the snow has been just right - not too much but enough to make it pretty and magical..
We arrived in Munich - it was cold and there was a tiny dusting of snow - then as we were making our way to Bavaria- this is how it was looking..

We stopped off at Oberammergau and went to the ' all year round' Christmas shop...I took lots of photos in here - and bought a 'toy soldier' ( had to didn't I?)

Then we made tracks to our hotel and arrived late afternoon.

Today we've visited two castles and I'm absolutely shattered this evening.
It was all worth it though - the Neuschwanstein castle is truly beautiful - I did feel sorry for the poor horses taking everyone up to the castle though - and ours looked like he needed a haircut - it was SO cold - we thought we might bump into Mr Tumnus at one point..

When we got to the top where the castle actually was - it was shrouded in mist but I managed to get some lovely photos of it as we were wandering around waiting for the horse and carriages to arrive- it was a truly wonderful  way to spend December 1st- AND I've got loads more photos too - be warned!
I took lots of the castle - it was awesome in the snow..  this one was looking across from the first castle - you can just see the yellowy turret on the left...it was really high up- and Neuschwanstein was almost level...
You can see how high up the castle sits here - above the rooftop of one of the shops..
Anyway,I think I've gone on long enough -time to rest the weary body ready for Christmas market tomorrow.
