Holiday sweep

I just had to take a photo of this, those who know us will see the funny side,as himself is never happier than when he is sweeping and tidying...
So there's me being Mrs lazy sitting reading my book this morning in the balmy sunshine eating toast and sipping tea in the shade enjoying the peace and quiet....and there's himself being himself.......

Hello Monday

A very different viewpoint this Monday!

Hello to -relaxing and spending time with himself- just the two of us - time to actually talk to each other and not notes by the kettle !!!!

Hello to - no paper, scissors and glue - I didn't bring any scrappy stuff this time as we were restricted on weight for our cases -but I have got some cross stitch Christmas cards to maybe make a start on - (me and sewing - really???!) hmmmm watch this space !

Hello to - wondering if they are behaving back home and making sure the dog has fresh water and all those little things .....

Hello to - no Excel,Sage or Accounting programme for a whole week

Hello to - Is it really not that many weeks until Christmas?

Hello to - being positive for the next few months - trying not to think of this time last year and how things changed so rapidly - look forward not back...

Hello to - booking my Waitrose delivery slot for Christmas

Hello to - finally getting round to reading the rest of the book about those Fifty shades of Grey

Hello to - leisurely making my way around blogland and catching up on what everyone's been up to...

Quite a few 'Hellos' this week.

What are you saying hello to ?

Scavenger hunt final round up

It's the last day today (only just made it as it's nearly midnight) for collecting photos for Rinda's photography scavenger hunt. I've thoroughly enjoyed this - and can't wait for next year's.I'm afraid I failed miserably on one - I didn't manage to find a swing hanging from a tree or hammock (number 21) but managed all the rest - so not bad at all methinks..
My favourite find was the outdoor stairway,I was taking the dog to the vets not thinking of scavenging and there it was in all it's glory right in front of me in the car park!

and without further ado - here's a round up of the rest I found...

Right, that's it from me for tonight.I've just finished packing and we are leaving two boys and the dog at home and winging our way off to Lanzarote tomorrow- up at 4 am so not much sleep for me - but that's not unusual! Thank you Rinda for the fab hunt - I really enjoyed it.

Scrapping yourself ?

'Why don't you scrap more photos of you' was something himself said to me a couple of years ago (I think- or it might have been longer)
It's something I never really felt that comfortable with for some reason. Having done some of Shimelle's classes though,it made me feel much better about it because it got me into the mindset of 'scrapping everyday life' I've been looking back - as you may remember from this post, and strangely enough- I don't seem to have many actual layouts of just me. Plenty of the two of us and plenty of family...... There may be another one or two lurking, but compared to the amount of layouts I've done over the years - it's not that many.

A bit of a random post really but something that I noticed whilst looking back over the years...
Do you like scrapping yourself ? Or do you prefer to just make your layouts of everyone else ? I suppose we should really - at least we can look back on ourselves can't we?

Hello Monday

Hello to Looking forward to a new arrival of wool stash- yep it's time to make a start on some new hooky stuff...
Just have to finish off this one and  ahem- a few couple of others-then I've got two things I'm itching to have a go at...

Hello to - countdown to a sunny week away -build up the pills and potions stash! ...

Hello to - my mojo having a kickstart due to something I'm going to tell you about further down that happened on Saturday

Hello to - Archie being back on form again - thank you vets ...

Hello to - The next episode of New Tricks starting tonight ( Iknow I know - but I love it!)

Hello  to - Downton Abbey starting again soon ...

Saturday saw me heading off in the sunshine to the 'Birds in the Barn' again to do a workshop with the uber talented Hels Sheridan

Her work is amazing and very inspiring, just what I needed to give the old mojo a kickstart...
Back to the wonderful floral displays at the garden centre where Birds in the Barn is based...still resplendent in September

My day was spent getting messy with paints and stencils making this canvas..
Thank you Hels,Janet and Karen - it was a lovely day.

Red and Blingy...

I've had this photo of our middle son's girlfriend and Archie sitting in my photo stash for ages, and decided to do something with it the other night.I saw an article about 'blinging it up' on your layouts so went a bit ott with the glitter - but hey why not? it doesn't show much on the picture, but the butterflies wings are glittered as is mostly everything on the page!

I love this photo - Archie is always beside himself when they come up for a visit and they always have lots of cuddles...
On another subject.I had to take him to the vets again yesterday as he seems to keep getting bouts of colitis - I've always had Shelties all my life and they have all had delicate tummies..apart from the girls-maybe it's a boy thing ... anyway- I digress - when we came out of the vets I happened to glance over and spotted a rather spectacular  outdoor stairway -yay another one off the list !

It is rather interesting eh?

If in doubt - look back !

I haven't managed to finish ONE crafty thing lately so haven't any creations to blog.I seem to be going through one of those silly 'can't decide what to do ' modes. I've got several a couple of crochet things on the go,a mini book to finish from the weekend when it was Karen's crop, a layout that's nearly finished, and lots of Christmassy bits strewn  laying tidily on my craft table.....
So it got me thinking about one of Shimelle's ideas (can't remember which class it was), to look back at maybe a year ago at what you were blogging and what was happening...
and this was one of my posts
http://deecie.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/back-and-front.html

I'd blogged a Graduation photo from the year before,of our middle son. I remember him being extremely fussy about making sure he had the right head circumference measurement for his graduation cap and when they came out from the ceremony, they all did the 'throwing up in the air' photo and of course no one picked the right one up so he ended up with one that was someone else's and miles too small for the rest of the day!! and it won't be long now before we will be going to our youngest son's graduation (next month)- how time flies.
And was it really a year ago that I got the Photobooth app for my phone ?? and blogged about that too ?
It's quite nice to look back sometimes isn't it ?

A Scavengey catch up

I'm amazed at how swiftly the time passes, himself advised me that summertime is officially now over and it is Autumn- how did that happen?? Apparently there may be an Indian summer soon ...hmmmm!
Anyway - here are some more scavenger hunt photos, I've still got a few to find but am getting there..

A maze....

A fountain...

A movie poster ....
A historical landmark - courtesy of my son ...
Someone dancing - another one courtesy of my son - he was an usher at his friend's wedding ...
That's all for now - just a few to go !
