I've made a start on my album for Shimelle's latest project over on Two Peas. We are concentrating on 'here' over the first two weeks and the prompt yesterday was to make a start on putting our album or whatever we chose to do together with the photos we took over the last week of our homes/neighbourhoods and any embellies or journalling .. as always am enjoying the concept of looking at things nearer to you more closely and documenting them.
I ordered myself one of these last week, it arrived the other day and I can't wait to start putting my 'stamp' on it so to speak. I'm going to put all the little things that are special to me and a few clippings etc etc inside. I love Donna's work although I am not at all 'arty' I just like the idea of having my own personal journal to put all my little special things in . I finished the second layout from the crop last Sunday last night and a couple more pages too. I have been photographing my area for the 'here' part of Shimelle's latest online class but some of the beautiful photographs that have been taken and posted on the forum put mine to shame- some of my nicer ones were taken in the snow when I walked to work a couple of weeks ago..
I love Teresa Collins stuff, and bought quite a bit of her Bella Girl range a while ago,the trouble in our house is that being the only female I don't get much chance to do pinky and girly things but hey ho I decided to with this one!
Having got back to a bit of blog hopping and being in the swing of what's going on out there- I decided to have a go at Dottie's challenge over at Dottie's world this week. The theme this week is 'lurve ' so here is my effort. I love the dog downloads and I am also loving the very new Holly and Madison collection, they are gorgeous. I also did a layout of the church in town which looked lovely in the snow when I walked to work last Monday. It's amazing how much you miss when you go by car everywhere..
I had a lovely time this evening watching recordings of 'Come dine with me' and doing some new pages. I used some odd American Crafts papers and Heidi Swapp acetate die cutty things. The pages came out of my head this time ! It's not snowing here yet but apparently it's on the way... could be back to walking to work tomorrow then..mind you it's been great to get some lovely photos to scrap..they all laughed at my hat at work this week, can't imagine why - at least it kept my head dry and I didnt have to carry an umbrella so I could keep hands free for holding on !
Well, at last January is over, most of the work was done by 8 o'clock pm Friday (a record) and there were only a few returns left to file on Saturday morning which was great as we are normally working right up until after midnight on the 31st. We had our traditional take away curry at work Friday evening and breathed a sigh of relief on Saturday. Most of Sunday was spent chilling or coming down to earth and yours truly managed to slip down the stairs and have an almighty bruise on my well padded posteria ! THEN it snowed and I managed to slip over on the walk to work- pride dented more this time!! So Sunday I managed to finish a project by this lady she really is very clever and has some lovely kits. I have wanted to do this one of Mum for ages so enjoyed doing it on Sunday. It's still snowing here so might have to walk into work again tomorrow (could be trouble if it's icy!) Mind you - our new baby Archie had a ball as it was his first experience of snow and he was really funny to watch..
