The first Sunday of each month is Storytelling Sunday over on Sian's blog, From High in the Sky, where we tell a story about something that is precious to us.
This is not technically an old precious but some of my precious things through the years have to have been my dogs. They have all held very special places in my heart right from the very first Sheltie I had when I was 16 -Sally,up to our present boy Archie....
So anyway, the story goes,we had two girls, mum and daughter together back in 2008/9 ,sadly the mum died and we got Archie- then shortly after we lost the daughter and Archie was left on his own. I really wanted to get another dog,but things took a turn in our lives and time was taken up with my Dad becoming really ill very swiftly and he lost a battle with cancer. I wasn't in the right place in my head to take on another dog as there was much to do with house selling and clearing and all the stuff that has to be done at a time like that.....This is not technically an old precious but some of my precious things through the years have to have been my dogs. They have all held very special places in my heart right from the very first Sheltie I had when I was 16 -Sally,up to our present boy Archie....
Moving on to a few weeks ago - I heard that there was a little boy Sheltie whose owner was looking for a new home for her 16 month old boy due to unfortunate circumstances in her life. After numerous phone calls and emails, photographs and three visits at each other's houses with said dog, he joined our family yesterday........ Himself said he hasn't seen me so smiley in a long time!
So here he is - little Sandro - welcome to our home little man - we love you lots already ..
and it turns out that he and Archie have the same Dad - so they are half brothers !

I just know that he is going to be so loved and spoilt. I agree that our four legged friends are so precious too.
How lovely to have a new little boy to love, looks like he is already making himself at home with the family!
Oh I love Shelties so, my Auntie and Granny had them and I adored them. I wish you all the best of fun :)
Your Shelties are beautiful and so precious. Nothing like a sweet doggie to tug at your heart.
He's beautiful!
And the two look very happy together.
Congratulations on the new addition.

Awww how lovely and a super layout too x
Aw, this is just lovely! We've never had a dog here, but we are noticing ourselves talking more and more about the idea and pointing out ones we like when we see them in the street. So you never know we may turn into a dog family yet! may you have many happy years with your new precious
How lovely that you and the previous owner were so careful about making sure Sandro had a good home to go to. I bet his PO feels a lot better about having to give him up for adoption now you have taken him in.
I do love a happy ending and how nice that they are half brothers too.
Congratulations,Denise!...he is lovely....I'm sure he will fit in perfectly!

Beautiful story. I'm glad your new dog has made you happy. I too lost my Dad to cancer and had to deal with house selling etc. It is very stressful. May you and your dogs have many happy years together. Wendy xx

Oh, Denise, Sandro is SO cute! I love that last photo of him with Archie - they both look so happy (possibly waiting for treats?). They are such beautiful dogs, and I know how much you love them. I'm glad your new pup has you smiling a lot these days! :o)
