Guest Designer for The Ribbon Girl

Good Sunday Morning everyone. I'm a very girlie, ribbony lace and florally type, and when the lovely Mary over at the Ribbon Girl asked me to be a guest designer on her blog I was really happy to join in.
I decided to go with the Lilac challenge as it's one of my favourite colours..this is my card
I used a Lily of the Valley image, and some pretty die cut flourishes and bows, then embellished to my heart's content with the lovely goodies from The Ribbon Girl.
Here's what I used...
The little girl image was from a Lily Of The Valley Pad
I hope your Sunday is a good one and thanks as always for dropping by.

ATDML April - Designer's Choice

We were given free reign for April to choose whatever we liked for our DT kits for A Trip Down Memory Lane
I went straight for Kaisercraft and Marion Smith. This layout I'm sharing today is a photo of myself and Ann from the Design Team being silly and dressing up for her Mad Hatter's Tea Party crop.
I used tiny strips of paper ,some lacy ribbon and some  grunge paste through a stencil on the background.
Then I embellished with some gorgeous new Marion Smith Butterflies which have just come into the shop, some Prima flowers and one of the cute wooden clocks you can find here called Romance Novel.
The lettering was some I had in my stash.
It was a great, fun day enjoyed by all.

Some things never change !

I love Easter and Christmas and any major holidays as not only does it give me chance to 'have a breather' but more often than not we have boys back for a day or two.
In this day of Instagram and Facebook AND the fact that I've had this annoying problem when I type anything on here - I've sadly neglected my little blog .....every time I type a 'T' on here the blooming cursor jumps back and up and it drives me mad...I've tried everything I can to sort it - apparently it's not a virus - someone said it's because I lean on the square bit - but I definitely don't !! So if anyone has any ideas or has had it happen to them I would be really interested to hear. It's only when I type a 'T' ??
Anyway -I digress- this weekend has been no exception and has been a lovely family one.
Started off with some flowers from himself ( oh and a few notes by the kettle for good measure)

Nice little meal out for the two of us
then lunch in the pub next day

Yummy fresh crab salad...
and this is the meaning behind my blog title today.
Some things never change..
It's the world cup this year so there is already talk and mutterings of semi finals and wall charts etc
But to set the ball rolling the 'boys' have all  got albums - just like when they were 'small boys' !
There was much ripping and comparing and swapping and sticking - love it !

Graphic 45 Zig Zag Album

Oh blogger how I've missed you. Last weekend I had the privilege of teaching two classes at the ATDML ( A Trip Down Memory Lane ) retreat.
I was also extremely happy to be asked to take the reins on a Graphic 45 class.
Normally the mega talented Jane Hewitt takes the Graphic 45 classes but as she was unable to be there  Jill and Mel asked me if I would like to teach one - NO hesitation at all from me !!
Anyway I decided to make a Zig Zag album based on one that I had seen befeore made by   Clare Charvill- there are also lots of them on the internet tooI thought I would use the beautiful new Botanical Tea range
This is a really pretty range and I loved working with it

I used the stamps that come with the collection too as I loved the 'cup of tea' sentiment - something that really applies to me as I do like a cup of tea!

It's a cute little keepsake and it was lovely to see the ladies ones coming together and to see all their own takes on it .
We had a fab weekend- there are lots of  gorgeous projects to show you .
I hope you are all having  a lovely Easter break and are enjoying the sunshine ( so far) !!

Box Frame Card

I've been wanting to try one of these for ages - I just received a lovely box of goodies from Aspire Crafts to do some Design Team samples with so thought I'd have a go.

Basically it's a 12 x 6 piece of cardstock that you make a box frame with - then cover and also make a little 5 inch inset box - it was a bit of a fiddle but I think once I've made a couple it should get easier.
I covered the front with some of the papers from the A4 and 12 x 12  Paper Pads then used a topper from the Floral Elegance kit for the inside.
I decided to cover the inside with the same paper and a little sentiment then left some space on the side for writing a greeting.
Sadly Mum isn't here any more for me but it would make a lovely Mother's Day card wouldn't it ?
